About Us
Within the Applications Team, the Learning Management Systems Expert Group of the Department of Studies & Teaching, Campus Management, provide central support in close collaboration with the decentralized digital learning offices in the faculties:
- Pedagogical and media-related individual consuting and support,
- Training on the use of digital media in teaching for both educators and students.

Digital Office
Hamburg Center for University Teaching and Learning (HUL)
The Hamburg Center for University Teaching and Learning (HUL) is a central institution comprising four areas: Research (higher education research), Teaching (Master's in Higher Education), Evaluation (to enhance the quality of studies and teaching), and Qualification. eLearning and digital teaching are topics integrated across all areas and within its various offers. The HUL supports educators in designing digital, hybrid, and face-to-face teaching with interactive qualification programs (teaching impulses, workshop and certificate programs, tutoring program, faculty program), higher education didactic consulting, and self-study materials.

Digital and Data Literacy in Teaching Lab
- Digital and Data Literacy in Teaching Lab
The ‘Digital and Data Literacy in Teaching Lab’ project (DDLitLab for short) promotes students' digital and data skills through subject-specific, interdisciplinary and transfer-oriented teaching programmes at all faculties at the University of Hamburg. It also supports teaching staff in further developing their digital didactic skills. The DDLitLab is funded by the ‘Foundation for Innovation in University Teaching’ for a total duration of four and a half years.
